Bitcoin has slipped into a sideways phase as market participants weigh uncertainty that extends beyond macro factors to U.S. politics. BTC remains stuck below the $70,500–$71,000 area with support near $68,000, while analysts on X point to a coming "pivot" on the 25th and a key retest of the 200-week EMA.

Bitcoin climbed above $71,600 at the US market open and briefly traded over $71,700, but spot activity on Binance stayed unusually weak. Analysts flagged March Binance spot volume near $52 billion versus $88 billion in September 2023, while the rally coincided with heavy short liquidations and falling futures open interest.

Bitcoin's weekly close on Sunday stayed below the 200-week EMA, a setup several traders said could extend downside in the weeks or months ahead. BTC/USD later traded near $71,190 after an intraday low of $67,300, while multiple analyses cited sub-$60K risk and a bear-flag target around $46,600.

XRP held a narrow range last week and rose nearly 4% over the week as retail participation increased across the network. Wallet distribution data show about 5.66 million addresses hold under 100 XRP, around 2.01 million hold 100–100,000 XRP, and roughly 32,054 hold more than 100,000 XRP. XRP is showing early rebound signals after failing to stay above $1.50, with whales adding roughly 40 million XRP over the past week. On March 22, analyst Ali Martinez said Santiment data showed large-wallet balances rising from about 3.72 billion XRP to nearly 3.80 billion as the TD Sequential printed a buy signal on the 12-hour chart. At press time, XRP traded at $1.37, down about 1.3% in 24 hours and over 6% on the week.
