Polls show 55% of voters oppose Trump profiting from crypto as TRUMP token trades near $1.45
Two new U.S. opinion polls show broad public opposition to President Donald Trump profiting from cryptocurrency, with 55% of voters disapproving and 44% saying they strongly disapprove. Separate polling for the Progressive Policy Institute and GBAO found 71% to 75% of respondents support banning federal officials and their immediate families from profiting from crypto businesses, even after learning about Trump’s business background. Amid the growing political scrutiny, the TRUMP token has remained under pressure and was recently trading around $1.45, down about 9.4% over the past week. The heightened scrutiny has also increased expectations of tighter rules that could further weigh on the appeal of politically linked tokens.
