BONK.fun says it has brought its site back online after a domain hijack tied to a breach at a third-party provider, with user losses now estimated at about $30,000. The team said on 20 March the attackers used social engineering against the domain service provider, leading to an unauthorized registrar transfer. BONK.fun added it will reimburse impacted users at 110% of losses, while BONK traded near $0.0000059 at the time of writing.

Kentucky is facing scrutiny over an amendment to HB 380, a bill aimed at regulating virtual currency kiosks, after critics said it could effectively prohibit crypto self-custody. The Bitcoin Policy Institute argues the measure would require hardware wallet providers to reset or recover users’ seed phrases and passwords, which it says is not feasible for non-custodial wallets.

Galaxy Digital research analyst Will Owens said Thursday that quantum computing poses a real risk to Bitcoin holders, but most wallets are not currently exposed. He argued funds are mainly at risk only when a wallet's public key is revealed on-chain, either because it is already visible or because it becomes visible when spending.

The company said recurring in-app activity, including DeFi access, has become a bigger growth driver than one-off device sales as monthly active users rose by 50%.

On 1 March 2026, Bitrefill reported a cyber incident in which attackers drained funds from its hot wallets and accessed parts of its infrastructure. The breach involved misuse of its gift card supply system and exposed around 18,500 purchase records, including email and crypto payment addresses. Bitrefill said it has restored most services, will cover the losses from operational capital, and has tightened security controls after the attack.
