In February, Ripple Labs outlined a major XRP Ledger (XRPL) upgrade focused on "Institutional DeFi", adding tools such as Multi-Purpose Tokens, lending protocols and permissioned domains. XRP traded around $1.35 on Friday, Feb. 13, then climbed to above $1.65 by Sunday, but broader market fear suggests the update alone is unlikely to drive sustained price gains in the short term.
