To further enhance account security and prevent unauthorized access, BingX has officially implemented the "Must verify using passkeys for important scenarios" feature.

Ⅰ. Why Enable Passkey?

In past security incidents, we found that some attackers gained access to accounts by compromising traditional two-factor authentication (2FA) methods (e.g., email/SMS codes, Google Authenticator). Particularly when a device is marked as "trusted," there is a risk of bypassing critical risk control.
To address this core vulnerability, we have introduced mandatory passkey verification, replacing traditional verification codes to provide a stronger defense for your account.

Security Benefits of Passkey:

  • Replaces traditional verification methods: Email/SMS/Google Authenticator are replaced with biometric or system authentication.
  • Prevents account theft when 2FA is compromised.
  • Blocks attackers from re-accessing accounts, even if they previously logged in from an old device.

Current Implementation:

Currently, the "Must verify using passkeys for important scenarios" feature applies only to login scenarios, with plans to expand to withdrawals, security setting changes, and other critical actions.

 

Ⅱ. How to turn on "Must verify using passkeys for important scenarios" feature?

Step 1: Open BingX app and log in to your BingX account. Tap on the avatar icon to access the sidebar. Next, tap "Security Center".

2. Tap on "Passkeys", choose "Enable", and follow the instructions to complete verification.

3. Select your device's Password Manager as the storage location for BingX passkeys.

4. After enabled, you can view details on the Passkeys page.

Please Note:

  • Before enabling the "Must verify using passkeys for important scenarios" feature, please ensure your device has the native system password manager installed and can complete authentication successfully.
  • After enabling the "Must verify using passkeys for important scenarios" feature, H5 and third-party logins will be temporarily unavailable for security reasons. They will gradually open in later phases.
  • This feature currently works for logins only, with expansion to other important scenarios coming in future updates.
