FAQs
1. What Are Index Perpetual Futures
Index (stock indices) represent a basket of representative listed company stocks and serve as a key indicator of overall market trends. Common examples include the S&P 500 and NASDAQ 100, widely used for portfolio allocation and gauging market sentiment.
Index Perpetual Futures are financial derivatives launched by BingX based on stock index futures price movements. Users can trade long or short using USDT without holding the constituent stocks or index futures, and benefit from leveraged price fluctuations.

6. Trading Hours
Index Perpetual Futures have specific opening and closing hours, refer to the display on the page.
Note:
- During non-trading hours, you can cancel orders but cannot open or close positions, place pending orders, or modify the price or quantity of existing pending orders. If funding fees during non-trading hours cause insufficient margin, liquidation may still occur. Please check your risk level and top up your margin in time.
- Due to unstable external market sources and public holidays, Index Perpetual Futures may enter temporary closure. The actual open time depends on when stable price feeds are restored. Please refer to the trading interface for actual open hours.
- To prevent extreme market volatility from affecting Forex, Commodity, Stock, and Index Perpetual Futures at open, BingX has launched an opening protection mechanism: Within the first 5 minutes after market opens, the Take-Profit cap will be temporarily limited to 20x and auto-closed to help users secure gains quickly during high volatility (this mechanism is only effective in the first 5 minutes after opening and does not affect your overall strategy).
20x Take-Profit cap rule:
This Take-Profit price is determined by the multiple of the user’s position return, not based on candlestick chart price:
Max Take-Profit Price = Position Margin × Price corresponding to 20x return
This price is a fixed trigger point calculated by the system and does not depend on real-time market filled price or candlestick chart thresholds.
Please Also Note:
- The real-time margin of the position can be affected by added funds, margin adjustments, funding fees, and other factors, which can lead to changes in the maximum Take Profit price.
- Starting from 2026-01-16, the 20x maximum Take Profit limit will be removed for GOLD and SILVER.
7. Price Sourcing
Prices are sourced from third-party platforms including IG and Bloomberg.
8. Additional Information
a. The funding rate mechanism for Index Perpetual Futures is the same as for Crypto Perpetual Futures. Costs are typically settled every 8 hours between buyers and sellers (refer to actual display). If the funding rate is positive, longs pay shorts; if negative, shorts pay longs. For detailed rates please see >>
b. Due to increased uncertainty in the index market after closure, there may be a risk of price gaps on reopening. Funding fees will still apply during non-trading hours. To reduce liquidation risk, check your risk level before the market closes and add sufficient margin or partially close positions. Five minutes before closure, the maintenance margin rate will increase by 2.5% on top of the current rate (e.g., from 1% to 1.025%) and will affect existing positions. Stay updated on closing times and your risk status to avoid forced liquidation losses.
c. Index Perpetual Futures also include the ADL mechanism, consistent with Crypto Perpetual Futures. For details please see >>
e. To ensure trading fairness and system stability, opening both long and short positions simultaneously on TradFi trading products will be prohibited before the market closes. It is recommended to arrange your trading operations in advance. Additionally, before the market closes, the system will dynamically adjust the maximum leverage for new positions. Existing positions are not affected; please refer to the actual trading prompts.
*If malicious trading behavior is detected, the platform will initiate risk control actions on the relevant account(s). Measures include, but are not limited to, deduction of abnormal profits, restriction of trading permissions, and account bans.
f. During significant macroeconomic data releases or events, financial market volatility is usually greatly increased, and there may be sharp price changes and liquidity fluctuations in a short period. To effectively control trading risk under extreme market conditions and protect users' asset security, BingX will temporarily lower the maximum available leverage for certain trading pairs in the TradFi section during relevant time windows, and will dynamically restore it depending on market conditions.
Please monitor key data and event schedules in advance, manage your positions and margin prudently, and avoid unnecessary risk exposure from extreme market volatility.
BingX will continue to monitor market dynamics and promptly adjust relevant parameters based on risk conditions. Thank you for your understanding and support.
