Dear BingX Users,

To further improve the accuracy of the futures ROI for traders, BingX will officially optimize this metric's calculation formula starting on 2026-03-17.

I. New Calculation Formula

Core formula:

ROI = (current balance - initial principal - cumulative deposits + cumulative withdrawals) ÷ historical highest benchmark principal

Indicator definition:

Current balance: total account assets at the current time

Initial principal: the first recorded account balance (starting funds)

Cumulative deposits: the sum of all funds deposited from the start date through the current date

Cumulative withdrawals: the sum of all funds withdrawn from the start date through the current date

Historical highest benchmark principal: the highest value the benchmark principal has reached since the account started. Benchmark principal = initial principal + cumulative deposits - cumulative withdrawals. If cumulative withdrawals exceed cumulative deposits, the benchmark principal does not decrease and remains at its historical high

Example Explanation:

Initial principal = 100, with no deposits or withdrawals, balance = 120

  • Cumulative deposits = 0, cumulative withdrawals = 0, current profit= 120 - 100 = 20
  • Historical highest benchmark principal = 100 (benchmark principal = 100)
  • ROI = 20 / 100 = 20%

Deposit 50, balance increases to 180

  • Cumulative deposits = 50, cumulative withdrawals = 0, current profit = 180 - (100 + 50) = 30
  • Benchmark principal = 100 + 50 = 150, and the historical high updates to 150
  • ROI = 30 / 150 = 20%

Withdraw 30, balance decreases to 150

  • Cumulative deposits = 50, cumulative withdrawals = 30, net deposits = 20, current profit = 150 - (100 + 20) = 30
  • Benchmark principal = 100 + 20 = 120, but the historical high remains 150
  • ROI = 30 / 150 = 20%

II. Original Calculation Formula

Core formula:

30D ROI = (1 + Week 1 PnL) × (1 + Week 2 PnL) × (1 + Week 3 PnL) × (1 + Week 4 PnL) × (1 + Week 5 PnL) - 1

Indicator definition:

Week n return = weekly PnL / max(starting net value for the week + total deposits during the week + total Bonus Voucher earnings during the week, 10)

Weekly PnL = SUM(daily earnings during the week)

Daily earnings = current net value - today's deposits + today's withdrawals - net value at 00:00 on the day

Starting net value for this week: taken from the net value on the last day of Week n-1. If there is no data or the data covers fewer than 30 days, it is recorded as 0.

Time period breakdown:

Using the current day as D and 30 days earlier as D-29, divide the period into 7-day intervals as follows:

  • Week 1: D-29 to D-23
  • Week 2: D-22 to D-16
  • Week 3: D-15 to D-9
  • Week 4: D-8 to D-2
  • Week 5: D-1 to D (only 2 days)

Exception:

If the data covers fewer than 30 days, divide the periods sequentially starting from the first day with data (for example, if there are only 8 days of data, the first 7 days are Week 1, and the 8th day is Week 2). If the return exceeds 10,000%, display it as "10000+%"; if it is below -100%, use -100%.

III. Advantages of the New Formula

  1. Consistent Directionality: The new formula ensures that the ROI and PnL always move in the same direction — no more logical inconsistencies, just cleaner data.
  2. Easy to Understand: Simple and clear logic makes it easier for traders to track their performance, and for copiers to quickly grasp how profits and losses are calculated.
  3. More Accurate Reflection: Benchmarked against multiple industry standards, the updated formula better captures a trader’s true trading performance.
