DPR is the currency ticker and native token that powers the Deeper Network. This token serves as the main currency utilized for conducting financial payments and serving as an incentive for a variety of services on the Deeper Network. The mechanism of operation of the DPR token is powered by a special consensus called the Proof-of-Credit (PoCr) consensus. The consensus allows users of the network to mine new DPR tokens by sharing their bandwidth.
The value of the DPR token is largely dependent on its users' usage of decentralized services, especially decentralized applications (dApps) on the Deeper Network. The various use cases the DPR token serves include but are not limited to serving to prevent attacks on the Deeper Network, sharing bandwidth on the Decentralized Private Network (DPN), and allowing users access to decentralized web services on the Deeper Network.
The DPR token has a total maximum supply of 10 billion tokens of which 6 billion will be used as block rewards for users of the Deeper Network.
