Oikos is a decentralized synthetic asset issuance protocol built on the Binance Smart Chain. The protocol allows for the issuance of synthetic assets, called Synths, that are collateralized by the Oikos Network Token (OKS). Users can perform conversions between Synths directly with the smart contract, eliminating the need for counterparties and solving the liquidity and slippage issues often experienced by decentralized exchanges (DEXs). Oikos currently supports synthetic fiat currencies, cryptocurrencies (long and short positions), and commodities. OKS holders are incentivized to stake their tokens as they receive a pro-rata portion of the fees generated through activity on the Oikos.Exchange, based on their contribution to the network. This allows them to participate in the network and capture fees generated from Synth exchanges, which is where the value of the OKS token is derived.
