Kenya Draft VASP Regulations 2026 Draw Industry Warning Over Startup Exclusion
Kenya's crypto industry groups say the Draft Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASP) Regulations 2026 could price startups out of licensing and concentrate the market among well-funded firms. The proposal sets paid-up capital requirements including up to $3.86 million (500 million Kenyan shillings) for stablecoin issuers, with public feedback open until April 10, 2026.
