What Is Veil (VEIL) and How Does It Work?
Veil (VEIL) is a zero-knowledge privacy layer for Solana. It gives users a private balance that can hold supported Solana assets and can be used to send, trade, lend, or withdraw without publicly linking each action to the user's main wallet.
The process begins when a user shields an asset from a public Solana wallet into Veil's shared vault. Inside the protocol, balances are represented as encrypted notes. Groth16 zero-knowledge proofs are generated locally in the browser and verified by Veil's Solana program before funds move. Relayers submit the proofs and pay network fees, while the recipient, amount, balance, token identity in supported flows, and transaction history can remain hidden from public observers.
VEIL is the project's ecosystem token. The protocol has stated that 20% of Veil's net revenue is directed toward VEIL buybacks. Protocol use itself relies on supported Solana assets and zero-knowledge proofs, and the available documentation does not describe VEIL as mandatory gas, governance, or access collateral.
When Did Veil Launch?
Veil launched on Solana mainnet on October 4, 2026. At launch, the protocol supported shielding, private transfers, swaps through Jupiter, private lending through Jupiter Lend, and withdrawals to standard or one-time Solana addresses.
The on-chain program completed an external audit delivered on October 6, 2026. The project later released version 0.1.3 of its Chrome extension on October 14, 2026, making the private wallet accessible from a browser toolbar. Veil remains an early-stage protocol, so users should monitor live security status, program upgrades, liquidity, and the size of each token's anonymity set.
Who Created VEIL?
Veil states that it is developed by former Monero CLI and GUI team members who worked on wallet synchronization, node setup, wallet recovery, privacy explanations, usability, and hardware-wallet support. The public project materials reviewed for this page do not identify the individual founders by name.
The team's privacy background is relevant to Veil's design, especially local key generation, browser-side proof creation, scoped viewing keys, and recovery-key handling. The lack of named founders still limits independent assessment of governance responsibility and execution history.
Veil Roadmap
Veil has not published a detailed dated roadmap. Its current product materials and official updates identify the following priorities:
- Private DCA: Veil has announced private recurring purchases as an upcoming feature intended to reduce the public link between a user's wallet and repeated market entries.
- Verifiable program builds: The project lists a verifiable build of the on-chain program as its next assurance step, allowing users and reviewers to compare deployed code with published source.
- Browser wallet development: The Chrome extension is live, while continued wallet improvements can make shielding, sending, trading, bridging, and withdrawals easier to access.
- Broader asset and developer support: Veil supports registered SPL and Token-2022 assets and provides an SDK for keys, synchronization, proof generation, and relayer interaction. Wider integrations will depend on secure asset registration and allowlisted protocol connections.
What Is the VEIL Token Utility?
VEIL connects protocol adoption with a market-traded ecosystem asset. Its documented economic role centers on revenue-linked buybacks and supply reduction. The available materials do not assign it gas or protocol-permission functions.
1. Revenue-linked buybacks: Veil states that 20% of its net revenue goes toward buying back VEIL. The strength of this mechanism depends on real protocol usage, collected fees, and transparent execution.
2. Buyback-and-burn supply reduction: On October 14, 2026, the project reported a USD 10,000 market buyback followed by a permanent token burn and linked the on-chain transaction. Future burns have not been guaranteed on a fixed schedule.
3. Ecosystem exposure: VEIL gives holders market exposure to the growth of the Veil brand and product. Current documentation does not establish token-holder governance rights, required staking, fee payment, or mandatory access utility.
BingX has a verified VEIL-USDT perpetual futures market at https://bingx.com/en/perpetual/VEIL-USDT. Eligible users can transfer USDT to their futures account, search for VEIL-USDT, review funding, leverage, liquidation risk, and the live order book, then choose an order type that fits their trading plan. A VEIL spot market was not verified at the time of review, so futures availability should not be interpreted as spot support.
What Is Veil Tokenomics?
VEIL is a Solana Token-2022 asset with mint address HgTGdc29D5bDMrDvsCLnorxz899VyDj7ZN7FPa6vpump. A finalized Solana mainnet query on October 15, 2026 showed a total supply of 975,855,501.337677 VEIL with 6 decimals. Both mint authority and freeze authority were null, which means the current mint configuration cannot create additional VEIL or freeze token accounts.
The observed total supply can decline through burns. The project's revenue-linked policy may create recurring market demand and supply reduction, although the timing and size of future buybacks depend on net revenue and project execution. Public data did not provide a separately verified circulating-supply figure, vesting schedule, or maximum-supply declaration, so traders should avoid treating total supply as confirmed circulating supply.
VEIL Token Allocation
The project has not published a detailed allocation table covering team, treasury, insiders, community incentives, liquidity, or vesting. The current on-chain supply and revoked mint authority do not reveal how the original supply was distributed or whether any holder wallets follow lockups or internal agreements.
Before making a decision, traders should review holder concentration, treasury movements, liquidity ownership, burn transactions, and any future disclosure of team or ecosystem allocations. A revoked mint authority limits new issuance from the current mint, while it does not remove concentration, liquidity, or coordinated-selling risk from existing balances.
