Vietnam detains ONUS-linked figures in probe into alleged token manipulation and investor fraud
Vietnam's Ministry of Public Security has arrested several individuals tied to the crypto platform ONUS, alleging they lured investors into buying tokens including VNDC, ONUS and HNG through misleading promotions, coordinated wash trading and artificial price moves, according to ChainCatcher citing CoinTelegraph. Authorities said the suspected proceeds involved could total billions of dollars.
Those detained include Vuong Le Vinh Nhan, linked to XPLOR, the parent company of ONUS Pro; Tran Quang Chien, identified as the platform's technical administrator; and Ngo Thi Thao, director of HanaGold Jewelry JSC. The investigation covers multiple cities, with more than 140 people summoned for questioning and related evidence seized. ONUS has not issued an official statement.
