MetaMask Staking is taking precautionary steps for the Ethereum validators it operates after investigating an infrastructure compromise, and has begun exiting validators from the Lido protocol. The final validators are expected to complete the exit process by the end of Oct. 7, 2026, though full withdrawals will take longer. The move is expected to result in foregone rewards and could also trigger downtime penalties if validators are taken offline. Exited ETH is expected to return to the protocol gradually after an exit, withdrawal and reentry cycle of up to around 45 days, which could temporarily affect Lido’s staked ETH and protocol status.

US personal consumption expenditures (PCE) data came in below market expectations. Bitcoin briefly rose after the release but later gave back those gains. The PCE report is widely viewed as a key gauge of inflation, and signs of cooling may shape market views on the Federal Reserve’s next rate moves. Nasdaq-listed SPAC Evernorth (XRPN) is scheduled to hold a shareholder vote at 12PM ET to approve a go-public merger backed by Ripple and SBI. The deal has more than $1.1B in committed capital, including $300MM from Ripple, $200MM from SBI, and $645MM from institutional investors. The company is expected to hold about ~566M $XRP in its treasury at close, according to an investor slide deck. That would make it the largest corporate $XRP treasury.

U.S. spot ETFs saw mixed flows from Sept. 29 to 30, with Bitcoin ETFs posting net inflows of about 66.19 million USD and Ethereum ETFs recording net outflows of 2.81 million USD. Solana ETFs took in 5.44 million USD, while NEAR ETFs drew 35.99 million USD. Chainlink ETFs added 1.83 million USD, Hedera ETFs 427.09 thousand USD, and Dogecoin ETFs 878.79 thousand USD. ETFs tied to XRP, ZEC, HYPE, AVAX, TRX, LTC, DOT and BNB showed no net change over the period.

Solana development team Anza has enabled the Alpenglow update on the network’s testnet and devnet, reducing transaction finality to 100–150 milliseconds. The upgrade is intended to improve throughput and responsiveness, while optimizing the experience for developers and validators. The changes are currently live in non-mainnet environments and are being used as a testing foundation for a potential future mainnet upgrade, according to Crowdfund Insider.

Brazil’s central securities depository CSD BR said it has partnered with Ripple to mirror securities ownership records on the XRP Ledger, initially using BTG Pactual fund shares. The move signals a practical deployment of the XRP Ledger within regulated securities-market infrastructure. It could also broaden the blockchain’s recognition and use across traditional financial markets.
