Anthropic has released Claude Opus 5.5, pricing it at $4 per million input tokens and $20 per million output tokens, down 20% from Opus 5. DoorDash has agreed to a $131.5m settlement with New York City regulators over failures to pay gig workers fully or on time. Of that total, $83m addresses a dispute over how the company calculated pay for time workers were logged on the app waiting for orders, while systemic errors left about $6.6m in wages unpaid and another $5.7m paid days or weeks late. DoorDash said the problems stemmed from “complex” changes to New York state minimum-wage rules introduced in 2023 and said the issues affected under 1% of overall local transactions.

Sugar prices in India have eased after jumping to Rs 65/kg in August, with ex-mill rates down nearly 25% and retail prices falling by around 10% to about Rs 58.50/kg. The average retail price stood at Rs 58.02/kg on Tuesday, up 25% year on year but down 3% from last month, according to the Department of Consumer Affairs’ Price Monitoring Cell. Industry estimates show 2025-26 sugar output fell 27% to around 28.1 MT, while the pace of declines has varied across the supply chain.

SoFi Technologies said stablecoin settlement is now live across SoFi Bank’s debit and credit card program, using Mastercard’s network and moving its card settlement toward SoFiUSD. The company said the setup extends SoFiUSD-based payments to merchants, with a target of covering more than $25 billion in payment volume. Internal documents obtained by Business Insider show Oracle cut 546 jobs in its Americas cloud infrastructure organization, about 7.6% of the 7,185 employees listed, with software developers accounting for roughly 17% of the roles eliminated. Oracle previously disclosed that its headcount fell by 21,000 employees, or 13%, in the 2026 fiscal year ended May 31, and said it had 141,000 employees before the latest round of layoffs. Russia’s Moscow Exchange has listed perpetual futures contracts for five major cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP and Tron.
