162,000 September payrolls send Bitcoin below $80K as Fed rate odds split 50/50
The U.S. Labor Department’s latest jobs report showed nonfarm payrolls rose by 162,000 in September, far above market expectations. The stronger labor data quickly jolted markets, sharply splitting expectations for the Federal Reserve’s next rate path into a 50/50 balance between rate cuts and keeping rates high. Risk assets broadly came under pressure, and bitcoin slid during the session below the key psychological level of $80,000.

USDD supply rises to about $1.5B as version 2.0 launches ETH and WBTC vault borrowing on Ethereum
Decentralized stablecoin USDD’s supply has increased from about $1.1B to about $1.5B, with total collateral value of about $2.24B. USDD 2.0 has launched overcollateralized borrowing vaults on Ethereum backed by ETH and WBTC, with six vaults and a combined $400M debt ceiling. ETH vaults allow up to 76.9% max LTV with 4.25%–5% stability fees, while WBTC vaults allow up to 74.1% max LTV with 4%–4.5% stability fees; both carry a 13% liquidation penalty. USDD minted from vaults can be swapped via the PSM 1:1 into USDT or USDC, providing a new stablecoin liquidity route for Ethereum DeFi.

Chainlink puts U.S. GDP and PCE inflation data on 10 public blockchains
Chainlink is bringing official U.S. GDP and PCE inflation data onchain across 10 public blockchains, offering both current index levels and annualized quarter-over-quarter changes. The PCE Price Index is the Federal Reserve’s preferred inflation gauge, and the onchain feeds are designed for use in prediction markets, trading apps and inflation-linked assets. Second-quarter 2025 GDP data had previously been deployed on networks including Bitcoin and Solana. The initiative aims to make authoritative macroeconomic data available for onchain financial product development.

Solana slides over 7% to around $102 as on-chain metrics point to a $150 setup
Solana has pulled back more than 7% from a nearly $110 seven-month high to around $102. On-chain data show the network averaged 9.5 million new addresses per day over the past week and added 52 whale wallets holding at least 10,000 SOL, an increase of 1.58%, according to analyst Ali Martinez. Capital flows also remained firm, with almost $154 million in net inflows last week and Bitwise’s Solana Staking ETF (BSOL) surpassing $1 billion in assets under management. Martinez said $103 is a key support level backed by 39 million SOL in accumulated cost basis, suggesting demand has not been materially dented by the pullback.

Chainlink targets $18 as LINK exchange balances drop
Chainlink’s LINK has rebounded from around $7.20 in July to about $12.40. Over the past three months, exchange-held LINK fell from 132 million tokens to 112 million, while supply outside exchanges rose from 870 million to 890 million. The setup points to continued net outflows from trading platforms. Technically, traders are watching resistance near $18 and support at $10, with a break below $10 potentially opening the way toward $7.
