Gold slips to $4,126.20/oz and silver to $60.48/oz as Fed “higher for longer” signals fuel volatility
International gold and silver prices extended declines on Friday, with COMEX gold at $4,126.20 an ounce (-0.35%) and COMEX silver at $60.48 an ounce (-0.44%). Trump then said the ceasefire with Iran was “over” and ordered military strikes in the Strait of Hormuz. U.S. security measures were raised, including a temporary switch from a new Qatar-gifted Air Force One jet to an older aircraft. The report said the developments signal a more public escalation in U.S.-Iran tensions, without citing attacks on specific energy facilities or any actual supply disruption.
