South Korea’s Kospi surged nearly 5% on Friday to 7,643 points, taking its two-day gain to about 5.5% and lifting the index out of a technical bear market after a drop of more than 20% from its June 22 high of 9,114.55. Samsung Electronics rose more than 5% and SK Hynix gained 2%, while heavyweights such as Hyundai Motor and LG Energy Solution also advanced. Foreign investors were net sellers of South Korean equities worth 529.1 billion won ($350 million), even as Kospi remains the world’s best-performing stock market of 2026 with a gain of around 76% so far this year.

Apollo Micro Systems rises 5% after signing Rs 1,550 crore deal for 41.33% of Premier Explosives
Apollo Micro Systems said it has signed an agreement to buy Premier Explosives’ promoters’ 41.33% stake in an all-cash transaction valued at around Rs 1,550 crore. The company will also launch a mandatory open offer to acquire up to 26% of Premier Explosives’ fully diluted voting equity share capital from eligible public shareholders. The deal is expected to close in the quarter ending December 2026, subject to approvals including clearance from the Competition Commission of India (CCI). The announcement pushed Apollo Micro Systems shares up 5% to Rs 418.

Yen strengthens after Japan’s finance minister urges pension funds to shift more into domestic assets

Elevra Lithium slips 4.54% despite June-quarter output of 54,479 tonnes

Australian dollar ticks up toward 0.6950 after RBA flags possible further tightening
