Arbitrum weighs moving 6,000 ETH and idle stablecoins into a treasury portfolio to fund operations
Arbitrum’s governance community reviewed a proposal in March 2026 to transfer 6,000 ETH and idle stablecoins into a dedicated Treasury Management Portfolio. The portfolio would deploy assets across multiple yield strategies to monetize ETH exposure in an orderly way while maintaining an operating runway. The proposal included an Entropy Advisors chart tracking 30-day moving average annualized yields for stablecoin, RWA and ETH deployments from Oct 2025 to Apr 2026. Community members also highlighted on-chain reporting and a tooling stack to make diversification verifiable.

Ethereum to put Platåberget testnet upgrade through major hard fork on August 20
Ethereum’s Platåberget upgrade began on Aug. 17, 2026 and is set to run one of the network’s most significant technical changes in years on Aug. 20. The upgrade reprices gas, aiming to lift the gas ceiling from the current 60 million to roughly 200 million. A standard ETH transfer to a new address will carry additional costs beyond the flat fee assumptions many wallets rely on. As of Aug. 19, ETH traded at $1,917.78, up 2.7% over the past 30 days and moving roughly between $1,850 and $1,950 over the month.
