Newtime Infrastructure Q1 FY27 net loss widens 33% to ₹3.34 crore
Newtime Infrastructure reported a 33% year-on-year widening in its first-quarter net loss to ₹3.34 crore. Total income from operations fell 19% to ₹4.89 crore from ₹6.04 crore a year earlier. Loss before tax increased to ₹2.51 crore from ₹2.08 crore, while other comprehensive income was ₹7.73 crore and total comprehensive income declined 22.3% to ₹4.39 crore. Shareholders also approved a resolution with 99.9999% of votes in favor.

Li Lu’s Himalaya Capital boosts PDD stake 133.5% in 2026 Q2 13F filing
Li Lu’s Himalaya Capital Management disclosed in its 2026 second-quarter 13F filing that it lifted its stake in PDD Holdings (PDD) by 133.5%, adding 6.15 million shares at an average price of $92.32. The position rose to 22.17% of the fund’s U.S. equity portfolio, making PDD its third-largest holding. PDD shares traded between $73.30 and $104.79 during the quarter. Axel Polymers posts ₹10.07 lakh Q1 net loss as revenue jumps 700.4%
Axel Polymers released unaudited first-quarter results showing revenue of ₹37.70 lakh, up 700.4% year on year. Profit before tax swung to a loss of ₹9.82 lakh from a profit of ₹13.73 lakh in the prior-year quarter. Net profit turned to a loss of ₹10.07 lakh versus a profit of ₹13.73 lakh a year earlier. Basic EPS came in at a loss of ₹0.04, compared with earnings of ₹0.06 in the same period last year.

Zinc prices jump to near four-year high on the LME as MCX futures hit Rs 393 per kg
Zinc prices have surged, with LME zinc reaching its highest level in nearly four years and MCX zinc futures touching a record high. Around 50-60% of global zinc consumption goes into galvanizing steel. The International Lead and Zinc Study Group (ILZSG) forecasts global refined zinc demand of about 14 million tonnes in 2026 versus projected production of around 13.99 million tonnes, implying an approximately 19,000-tonne deficit.

Cochin Shipyard Q1 consolidated profit falls 19.36% to ₹151.45 crore
State-owned Cochin Shipyard reported consolidated net profit of ₹151.45 crore for the quarter ended June, down 19.36% from ₹187.82 crore a year earlier. Total income rose to ₹1,161.25 crore from ₹1,122.92 crore in the April-June quarter of FY26. Total expenses increased to ₹958.76 crore from ₹873 crore. The profit decline was attributed to lower revenue from both shipbuilding and shiprepair segments, the company said in a regulatory filing.

Berkshire’s Alphabet stake rises to $36.6 billion, becoming its third-largest listed holding
Berkshire Hathaway significantly increased its Alphabet position in the second quarter, lifting the investment to $36.6 billion and making it the company’s third-largest publicly traded holding. The conglomerate bought nearly $19.8 billion in publicly traded stocks during the quarter, including $10 billion of Alphabet shares purchased at a discount directly from the company. It also added around 20 million more Alphabet Class A and Class C shares. GEICO, Berkshire’s insurance unit, pays Google about $10 or $11 per click for advertising.
