Paul Pelosi, husband of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, bought Bloom Energy shares and long-dated call options in late July, with a combined disclosed value of up to approximately $12 million. The disclosure shows purchases on July 24 and July 28, including call option contracts with a $100 strike price expiring in mid2027. Bloom Energy shares were last priced at $192, up 290% over the past year.

U.S. stocks were mixed, with the S&P 500 down 0.43%, the Nasdaq 100 off 1.41%, and the Dow up 0.19%. Weakness in chipmakers and AI infrastructure shares pressured the broader market. Sentiment also weakened after U.S.-Canada trade talks broke down and the U.S. imposed a 50% tariff on about $20 billion of Canadian goods. Crude oil fell more than 2%, helping pull inflation expectations and bond yields lower, with the 10-year Treasury yield easing to 4.71%.

Intel shares have risen about 140% in 2026. Wedbush analyst Matt Bryson said the price of Intel’s Arc Pro B70 workstation GPU has increased by as much as 48% across markets in roughly one month. Intel reported second-quarter revenue of $16.13 billion, up 25.4% year over year, with EPS of $0.42. Data Center and AI revenue jumped 59% to $6.26 billion, while Intel Foundry revenue rose 31% to $5.77 billion.

Global gold ETFs posted net inflows for a fifth consecutive week, with $6.38 billion added over the week, including $4.37 billion into the U.S. and $1.07 billion into the UK. Gold has rallied recently, up nearly 15% over the past month and 6% over the past week, trading at $4,676 an ounce. Year-to-date net inflows into gold ETFs have reached $2.6 billion.

Amazon is facing a class-action lawsuit alleging its Twitch platform used streamers’ videos to train AI models without permission or proper compensation. Filed by a Connecticut-based streamer, the complaint is brought on behalf of millions of creators seeking damages. It also asks the court to bar Amazon from continuing the alleged practice. Amazon bought Twitch for nearly $1bn (£740m) in 2014 and has made AI a major focus as it competes with Google, Meta and other tech companies.

India’s domestic sugar prices have jumped more than 15% in a month, with retail prices topping Rs 60 per kg and rising over 20% year on year. Flooding in some states and inadequate rainfall in others have reduced sugarcane harvests, tightening supply and pushing prices higher. In response, the government has approved duty-free imports of 1 million metric tons of raw sugar for the first time in nearly 10 years to help cool domestic prices.

Strategy raised about $2 billion last week by selling 18.26 million MSTR shares and repurchased about 1.43 million STRC preferred shares for $136.4 million. The company added $300 million to its US dollar reserve and placed the remaining proceeds into a newly launched US dollar cash account holding $1.59 billion. As of Sunday, the reserve stood at $5.1 billion, bringing total cash across the two pools to $6.69 billion. Strategy made no Bitcoin purchases or sales during the week, keeping its holdings at 840,447 BTC.

Vivek Ramaswamy’s asset manager Strive has purchased 1,100 Bitcoin valued at about $85 million. The transaction has been publicly reported. It was described as a large, institutional-scale on-chain or over-the-counter buy.
