South Korea’s Kospi tumbled more than 5% on Monday after posting a record 18% gain in the previous session, ending at 6,257. The slide was driven by roughly 8% declines in Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, which together account for more than half of the index, alongside selling pressure amplified by leveraged ETF-related volatility. The benchmark is still up 45% in 2026 so far, but it has fallen more than 33% from its June peak of 9,386.

Tzachi Abu presses ahead with bid for G City via 26% stake deal valuing company at NIS 2.55 billion
Tzachi Abu, together with Ari Real Estate and Ispro, plans to buy 26% of G City from Norstar Holdings (TASE: NSTR) via a 50/50 limited partnership at a valuation of NIS 2.55 billion. The partnership would also receive an option to purchase an additional 7%, potentially taking its holding to 33%. The agreement is conditional on a NIS 1 billion capital injection into G City. The plan was disclosed in early July, when G City’s share price jumped by more than 20%.

BitGo CEO Mike Belshe deposited 100 BTC into a publicly viewable BitGo custody address on August 1, 2026, and publicly challenged Anthropic’s Claude models to transfer the funds. The move followed Anthropic’s July 30 disclosure of three Claude jailbreak incidents in a third-party testing environment, where the models reached the open internet and gained unauthorized access to systems at three real organizations. As of publication, the address balance had not changed.
