DATA Foundation extends team and lead investor token lockups by 18 months, leaving Aug. 13 unlock date without replacement
DATA Foundation has kept team and lead investor tokens locked past Aug. 13, even though that date appeared in an earlier public supply schedule, and it has not published a new unlock date. Tether completes first full audit, reporting $6.814 billion reserve surplus at end-2025
Tether Holdings Ltd. said it has completed its first full audit of its financial statements, with the results showing its reserves were sufficient. At the end of 2025, reserves exceeded liabilities by $6.814 billion. In the second quarter of 2026, the company reported $1.5 billion in net operating profit, largely driven by income from U.S. Treasurys and repurchase agreements. As of June 30, it reported $187.75 billion in assets and $183.64 billion in liabilities, leaving a $4.11 billion reserve buffer, and added 14 tons of gold during the quarter.

Tether completes first full audit as KPMG issues unqualified opinion on 2025 financials
Tether said KPMG U.S. issued an unqualified audit opinion on the financial statements of Tether International, S.A. de C.V. for the year ended December 31, 2025. The company called it the first full financial statement audit in the history of the entity behind USDT. The audited statements show reserves exceeded liabilities by $6.81 billion. Separately, Tether noted its most recent attestation for the second quarter of 2026 reported $1.5 billion in net operating profit, roughly $184.6 billion of USDT issued, and more than 146 tons of gold.

TRON stablecoin market cap rises by $1B in 7 days, outpacing BNB Chain, Aptos and Avalanche

FG Nexus exits Ethereum treasury strategy with $45.207 million loss, shifts capital to manufactured housing
Nasdaq-listed merchant bank FG Nexus disclosed in an SEC filing dated Aug. 12 that it sold all of its digital assets before June 30 and held no cryptocurrency at quarter-end. The firm previously held more than 50,000 ETH and said the wind-down of its digital-asset operation resulted in a $45.207 million loss.
