DeepChain overview: Spot Ethereum ETFs last week posted a net outflow of $542.1 million, the weakest week since January and a ninth straight trading day of net outflows, according to SoSoValue data analyzed by The Block. Spot Solana ETFs ended a record 14-week streak of net inflows with a $24.8 million weekly outflow. Together with redemptions from Bitcoin ETFs, the three categories lost about $1.25 billion. Flows have shifted from BTC inflows and SOL gains to synchronized outflows, a retreat from crowded ETF trades. Ethereum funds Ethereum funds have seen net outflows for nine consecutive trading days, with cumulative redemptions of $697.2 million since Sept. 29. Ethereum funds logged a second consecutive weekly outflow. BlackRock ETHA, the largest Ethereum fund by assets, lost $477 million last week, about 88% of the category total. That was the biggest weekly outflow since mid-December 2025 and the third-largest since its July 2024 launch. Grayscale ETHE had the second-largest weekly outflow among Ethereum funds at $31.9 million. Tuesday was the heaviest trading day for Ethereum products, with $201.9 million redeemed, all from ETHA. That was the largest single-day outflow for the fund since Jan. 21 this year. The redemption coincided with the effective date of the ETHA 1-for-3 reverse stock split. ETHA has posted outflows for five consecutive trading days. Its net assets stand at $8.64 billion, about $4.15 billion below cumulative net inflows of $12.79 billion. Last week was the largest outflow for the category since the week ended Jan. 23, when $611.2 million exited. It was the second straight weekly net outflow for Ethereum ETFs, after $138 million the prior week. Fidelity FETH accounted for $74.1 million of the previous week outflows. Since Sept. 28, when net inflows reached $17.1 million, daily Ethereum ETF flows have been negative every trading day. Ethereum outflows began Sept. 29, one day before Bitcoin ETFs ended a nine-day run with $3.1 billion in cumulative net inflows. ETHA accounted for $506.1 million of that nine-day outflow period. The cycle ties with June 17-30 as the third-longest in fund history. The record is the 17-day stretch from May 11 to June 3, when about $900.1 million left the product. Spot Ethereum ETF net assets fell 10% for the week to $15.71 billion. Since launch, cumulative net inflows are $13.26 billion. The category has net inflows of $931.8 million year-to-date, down from $1.47 billion a week earlier. Trading volume rose from $3.57 billion the previous week to $5.18 billion. Solana funds Solana products saw outflows on all five trading days last week, the longest daily outflow streak on record. The previous longest was three days. The $24.8 million weekly outflow was the largest since the fund launched in late October 2025. Bitwise BSOL, the largest Solana fund with $1.2 billion in net assets, lost $20.9 million, about 84% of the category total. That was the largest single-week outflow for BSOL, exceeding the $17 million outflow in the week ended July 31. Monday saw the largest outflow of the week at $9.2 million. Morgan Stanley MSOL and Invesco QSOL were the only Solana funds with net inflows, attracting $2 million combined. The weekly outflow was roughly three times the previous record of $8.9 million in the week ended Feb. 6. The funds had not recorded a negative weekly flow since the week ended June 26, when $1.8 million exited. The 14-week net inflow streak topped the previous record of 13 weeks from launch through late January. The reversal came after the Solana Foundation recorded a record weekly net inflow of $188.2 million two weeks earlier. Spot Solana ETF net assets fell to $1.73 billion from $1.9 billion a week earlier. The fund held a record $1.96 billion on Sept. 25. Total net inflows are $1.58 billion, with $816.8 million year-to-date in 2026. Bitcoin funds Spot Bitcoin ETFs lost $681.1 million last week, ending three straight weeks of net inflows. That was the worst week since the week ended June 26, when outflows hit $1.79 billion. Wednesday accounted for most of the redemptions, with $487.1 million leaving. The product returned to net inflows Friday, taking in $21.1 million. Bitcoin funds saw 2026 net inflows fall to $494.1 million from $1.18 billion a week earlier. The category turned positive for the year in late September. Bitcoin ETF net assets are $105.84 billion, with cumulative net inflows of $57.11 billion since launch. On Saturday morning, Ethereum traded around $2,506, SOL around $110.50, and Bitcoin around $82,900.

On October 12, SoSoValue data showed mixed crypto sector performance. Layer 2 rose 6.62% in 24 hours, led by Starknet up 111.53%, while Optimism, Celestia and zkSync gained 15.45%, 20.38% and 34.23%. DePIN added 6.24% as Grass climbed 49.41% and Filecoin 13.91%. Bitcoin rose 1.43% past $83,000 and Ethereum gained 0.14% above $2,500. RWA advanced 4.74% while Meme fell 0.58% and CeFi 0.72%.

Within eight hours of its launch, perpetual futures platform Papertrade was exploited for $1.28 million. A trader used 1000x leverage to manipulate Hyperliquid spot prices, profiting from Papertrade's passive liquidity pool. The operation cost $52,000 in fees. Coinbase said on October 8 that from the last week of October 2026, USDC will automatically become the default stablecoin for U.S. users topping up their stablecoin balance in Samsung Wallet. Samsung Wallet comes preinstalled on Galaxy devices. When the feature launches, about 82 million compatible devices are expected to be in use in the United States. Samsung first said in July that its wallet would support stablecoins, but gave no issuer or timeline. The initial partner and default stablecoin were revealed three months later. The potential balance volume and how revenue would be shared remain undisclosed. The first uses for USDC in Samsung Wallet are transfers to compatible external crypto wallets and remittances to overseas bank accounts, with recipients receiving funds in local currency. U.S. stablecoin infrastructure provider Bastion supplies the underlying services, and Coinbase Prime custodies the USDC. Bastion developer documentation says its withdrawal service supports bank accounts in more than 60 countries. Account holders must be U.S. residents, and customers in New York State cannot currently withdraw to bank accounts. These are limits of the Bastion product. Samsung Wallet has not fully disclosed its scope, fees, or settlement times. In August, Samsung said in a written response that it would begin rolling out stablecoin accounts, cross-border remittances, and payment features this year, starting in select countries. USDC circulation has fallen while trading volume has risen. Coinbase disclosed that USDC circulating supply grew 72% in 2025 to more than $75 billion. In the second quarter of 2026, the circulating supply of USDC fell from about $77 billion at the end of the first quarter to $73.3 billion, a decline of about 4.8%. USDC adjusted trading volume in June was about $1.21 trillion, roughly 67% of total adjusted stablecoin trading volume. Circulation is down; on-chain activity is not. For USDC, a new question is whether it can move beyond exchanges and DeFi into more everyday financial transactions. Samsung Wallet offers a test: users can initiate stablecoin transfers directly from a mobile wallet without first setting up a separate crypto wallet. Distribution costs approach 60%. Stablecoins do not pay interest to holders. About 95% of revenue at Circle, the issuer of USDC, comes from yield on reserve assets. In the second quarter, total revenue and reserve income at Circle amounted to $701 million, while distribution, transaction, and other costs totaled $412 million, or 59%. For full-year 2025, that cost is expected to be about $1.4 billion, or roughly 51%. Not all of it goes to channel partners, but distribution payments are the largest part. Coinbase is the largest distribution partner for Circle. On August 18, the two renewed their agreement for three years through 2029, with terms unchanged. Coinbase Prime custodies the USDC in Samsung Wallet. The Coinbase announcement did not specify whether this balance is subject to the existing distribution arrangements between the parties, or whether Samsung receives a share. Samsung brings a new mobile distribution channel. Coinbase gains custody and partnership opportunities. Circle can expand USDC use into more cross-border transfer scenarios. But 82 million compatible devices do not equal 82 million stablecoin users. The commercial value of this entry point will depend on how many people actually open accounts, make transfers, and keep balances after launch. If Samsung Wallet drives sustained USDC balance growth, the discussion will move beyond user acquisition to how the commercial value from those balances should be shared.
