Companies are tightening AI budgets and focusing spending on projects that can show a return on investment. That shift could cool the growth rates that have helped propel OpenAI and Anthropic. As enterprises scrutinize costs more closely, the two model providers may face slower expansion than during the earlier surge in AI adoption.

The dollar weakened against major currencies on Friday as markets scaled back expectations for further Federal Reserve rate hikes, a shift shaped by recent economic data and lower oil prices. Even so, the greenback was still set to end the week higher and log its strongest monthly performance since July 2025. Inflation gauges came in as forecast, while falling energy costs helped slow the pace of expected European Central Bank tightening even as the Fed was still seen raising rates.

India’s MCX gold price fell Rs 15,000 per 10 grams (-9.73%) from June 1 to June 2026, while silver dropped nearly Rs 45,000 per kg (-17%). The decline has been linked to a more hawkish Federal Reserve stance, a stronger U.S. dollar and unwinding in yen carry trades.
