Arkham Intelligence's April 3, 2026 findings rank Ethereum's largest ETH holders and show Vitalik Buterin is not the biggest individual holder. The ETH2 Beacon Deposit Contract contains over 82 million ETH (about $169 billion), while presale investor Rain Lohmus is listed with 250,000 ETH, and Buterin follows with roughly 224,000 ETH. Among corporate holders, Arkham lists Bitmine at nearly 4.7 million ETH and BlackRock at over three million ETH.

Circle has launched cirBTC, a wrapped Bitcoin token backed 1:1 by native on-chain BTC reserves, with initial deployment on Ethereum mainnet and Circle's Arc blockchain. The company says the design includes real-time on-chain reserve verification and no third-party custodian, positioning cirBTC for DeFi lending and derivatives use alongside USDC and Circle Mint.

Circle said it will introduce cirBTC, a wrapped Bitcoin token backed 1:1 by BTC, aimed at institutional use cases such as OTC desks, market makers and lending protocols. Announced on Thursday, cirBTC is set to debut on Ethereum and also be made available via Circle's Arc layer-1 and Circle Mint platform.

Ethereum's on-chain usage climbed to more than 788K daily active addresses, with over 255K new addresses created each day, even as ETH's price remained stuck in a defined range. ETH continued to trade between $1,807 support and $2,371 resistance, while derivatives and flow metrics pointed to $29.50M in spot outflows, an 8.59% drop in open interest to $28.18B, and a negative -0.0073% funding rate.

Crypto ETF flows reversed after two days of inflows, led by bitcoin products posting $173.73 million in net redemptions. Ether ETFs also slipped to a $7.10 million outflow even as several funds took in money, while XRP ETFs saw a $1.32 million exit and Solana ETFs again showed no activity.
