Gnosis, Zisk, and Ethereum Foundation unveil EEZ to unify fragmented Layer 2s

Gnosis, Zisk, and the Ethereum Foundation said on March 29, 2026 that they have launched the Ethereum Economic Zone (EEZ), a Layer 2 framework aimed at reducing rollup fragmentation. The project targets "synchronous composability" so contracts across rollups can interact within a single atomic transaction, using ETH as the default gas token and avoiding additional bridge infrastructure.
