Onchain security firm PeckShield (@PeckShieldAlert) said an attacker opened a $15 million $Fartcoin long on Hyperliquid using four wallets, accumulating 145.24 million tokens in total. The position was then intentionally pushed into a "suicidal" liquidation amid thin liquidity, triggering the platform's AutoDeleveraging (ADL) mechanism. As ADL kicked in, the HLP liquidity pool was forced to take on toxic inventory and associated bad debt, leading to an estimated paper loss of about $3 million. PeckShield added that HLP has fallen by roughly $1.5 million over the past 24 hours. PeckShield noted the attacker likely set up cross-market hedges in advance, meaning the net profit could be materially higher than the visible paper loss.

The Ethereum Foundation has sold an additional 3,750 ETH valued at $8.3 million, according to lookonchain. The tokens were sold at an average price of $2,214 per ETH. The transaction continues a recent wave of ETH liquidations. The foundation still has 1,250 ETH remaining to sell.

Ethereum spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) logged a combined net outflow of $18.63 million on April 8 (U.S. Eastern Time), according to SoSoValue data cited by Odaily Planet Daily. BlackRock's Staked ETH ETF (ETHB) topped daily inflows, adding $44.23 million and lifting its cumulative net inflows to $356 million. The 21Shares ETF TETH followed with $1.98 million in net inflows, bringing its historical total to $25.5027 million. Fidelity's FETH posted the largest daily outflow, with $32.43 million redeemed; its cumulative net inflows stand at $2.251 billion. As of publication, Ethereum spot ETFs held $12.558 billion in total net asset value. The ETF net asset ratio was 4.71% of Ethereum's total market capitalization, while cumulative net inflows since launch reached $11.518 billion.

According to Farside Investors, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs posted a net outflow of $93.9 million on April 9. BlackRock's IBIT recorded a $40.4 million net inflow, while Fidelity's FBTC saw a $79.1 million net outflow and ARKB logged a $74.7 million net outflow. Spot Ethereum ETFs reported a net outflow of $18.6 million. ETHA registered a $20.6 million net outflow, ETHB brought in $44.2 million of net inflows, and FETH posted a $32.4 million net outflow.

South Korea's Bithumb is seeking legal action after a major payout error during a Feb. 6 promotional event, Chosun Ilbo reported. The exchange mistakenly credited users with 620,000 bitcoin instead of 620,000 Korean won. Bithumb moved quickly to reverse the transfers, but some recipients had already sold the bitcoin or swapped it into other assets. The exchange said bitcoin worth 12.3 billion Korean won could not be recovered in time. Following negotiations, Bithumb has retrieved most of the funds, but 7 BTC, valued at about $490,000, remains outstanding. The company has started asset preservation procedures and is preparing to file civil lawsuits against users who have not returned the bitcoin.
