SBI Shinsei Bank will start a three-month pilot on June 10 offering Japanese depositors vouchers equal to 20% of interest earned on eligible accounts. Customers can redeem the vouchers for Bitcoin, Ether, or XRP via the group's licensed exchange, SBI VC Trade, and the bank said about 4.33 million deposit accounts may qualify.

MUFG Bank, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), and Mizuho Bank plan to co-issue a Japanese yen-pegged stablecoin by the end of Japan’s fiscal year 2026 (March 2027). The project follows joint pilot testing that began in November 2025 with involvement from Japan’s Financial Services Agency, while details such as token design, target users, and settlement setup have not been disclosed.

XRP Ledger (XRPL) addresses climbed to a new record of 8,347,232 on June 9, 2026. The count rose from 7,921,350 at the start of the year, adding more than 425,882 addresses YTD for a 5.38% increase. Despite weak price sentiment, network activity and stablecoin usage metrics also showed growth.

Humanity Protocol reported a widening security incident on June 9 that grew from early estimates above $5 million to losses exceeding $32 million. Investigators said stolen assets were largely swapped into ETH and also involved an unauthorized mint of 100 million H tokens, while founder Terence Kwok confirmed a private-key compromise and told users to avoid the bridge and liquidity pools. Russia is preparing a bill to add fees and trading constraints for crypto tokens it deems "unfriendly," with the State Duma expected to consider it in June and core rules set to begin on July 1, 2026. Analysts and market watchers expect thinner order books, wider spreads, and temporary bottlenecks if large balances are forced to migrate quickly.
