Bitcoin (BTC) fell below $67,000 for the first time since April as the crypto market logged $1.5 billion in liquidations since Monday. Binance Research said the pullback may be driven less by crypto-specific factors and more by capital rotating into US equities and concentrated S&P 500 themes.

Strategy's sale of 32 BTC for $2.5 million has drawn attention to how bitcoin treasury companies raise cash while trying to keep BTC exposure. The company disclosed in a June 1 SEC filing that the May 26–May 31 transactions were aimed at funding preferred stock distributions, putting dividends, reserves, and borrowing options under closer scrutiny.

Crypto treasury-company flows fell to $180 million in May, the weakest monthly total since October 2024, with Bitcoin-linked firms taking $177 million of the inflows. April posted $4.4 billion, meaning May was down 95% month over month, while Litecoin recorded a $1.89 million outflow.

Bitcoin fell back below $70,000, trading at $69,570.36 after a 4.24% drop over the past 24 hours, while gold rose 1.26% to 4,533.95. One BTC is currently worth about 15.9 ounces of gold versus a long-term average near 63 ounces, a level described as the most "oversold" reading for 2026. The BTC/gold ratio has slid from over 30 ounces per BTC in 2025 to roughly 15–16 now, highlighting notable underperformance against the metal.

Ethereum fell below $1,950 after failing to hold above $2,000, then printed a low at $1,836 before consolidating under $1,920. The price remains below the 100-hour SMA, with resistance clustered at $1,880, $1,900, $1,920 and $1,950, while $1,840 and $1,820 are the key supports.

Ripple said on June 1 that CME Group's move to 24/7 crypto futures and options trading reflects institutional demand, pointing to XRP futures activity as an example. Ripple Prime, previously known as Hidden Road, is acting as a day-one clearing and financing partner for the expanded schedule. Ripple also noted that XRP futures were the fastest CME contracts to reach $1 billion in open interest, doing so in three months last year.

Bitcoin dropped under $70,000 after failing to hold above $70,500, and it later printed a low at $66,111 before consolidating. Price remains below the 100-hour simple moving average, with a bearish trend line capping rebounds near $68,000. A breakdown below $66,000 could open the door to $65,000 and $64,200, while resistance is seen at $68,500 and $70,000.

Bitcoin moved below $72,000 after Michael Saylor-led Strategy disclosed its first Bitcoin sale in more than three and a half years. The transaction involved 32 BTC worth about $2.5 million, while the company still reports holdings of 843,706 BTC acquired at a total cost of $63,86 billion.
